vivo X500 Pro Max announced: 2nm MTK chip, ZEISS camera system, 8,000mAh battery

Chinese tech firm vivo earlier introduced its newest high-end smartphone line in China. At the very top is the flagship, the X500 Pro Max.

Highly capable-looking camera system

As expected, the main highlight of the phone is the camera system. The X500 Pro Max packs a 50MP f/1.57 1/1.28-inch OIS camera, paired with a 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 200MP f/2.67 1/4-inch Samsung HP0 APO 3.5x periscope telephoto camera with OIS. It also has a 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

The phone also has ZEISS T* coating and ZEISS optics, as well as the vivo VS1 & V3+ imaging chips.

VS1 handles exposure, focus, noise, and dynamic range, while V3+ refines detail, color, and portrait effects. Together, these chips boost clarity, low‑light shots, and overall consistency.

The vivo X500 Pro Max also supports a 400mm Zeiss G2 Ultra teleconverter.

It also shoots 4K at 240fps slow‑mo, records 8K at 30fps, and supports 10‑bit 4:2:2 video with ACES color management.

As expected, the phone has flagship-level durability, backed by an IP68 and 69 dust-and-water resistance rating.

In front, it has a 6.85-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED screen w/a 144Hz refresh rate, 3168 x 144 resolution, up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, and an Ultrasonic In-Display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek's 4.55GHz 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro processor paired w/ Mali-G2-Ultra-NX GPU. It also has 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.1 internal storage, and an 8,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 90W fast charging and 40W wireless and reverse wireless charging.

Other features include an IR Blaster remote control, stereo speakers, HiFi audio, WiFi 7, 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS L1+L5, and dual SIM slots.

The phone runs on Android 17 OS w/ Origin OS 7 skin out of the box.

The phone measures 163.32 x 76.82 x 7.59 mm and weighs 225 grams.
