The new REDMI 17C 5G features a refined look with clean lines and flat side frames for a secure, modern grip. The back panel showcases Xiaomi's updated camera island layout: a rounded rectangular camera deco housing two circular lens cutouts arranged horizontally alongside the LED flash unit. The rear shell supports a subtle matte finish designed to resist everyday smudges and fingerprints, available in three distinct colorways: Black, Brown, and Purple. It is IP64 dust- and water-resistant.

Despite its massive 6,000mAh battery, Xiaomi has kept the phone slim at just 8.05mm thick and a total weight of 211 grams. The chassis is also engineered with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, offering reliable protection against light rain and accidental liquid splashes during daily use.

Dominating the front of the device is the large 6.9-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 1,600 x 720 resolution, an 810 nits peak brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports a 240 Hz touch sampling rate and DC dimming. It is triple TÜV Rheinland certified for Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly, and Flicker Free performance.

Inside the phone is the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core mobile platform, paired with an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU to deliver steady 5G connectivity and efficient everyday performance. The device is configured with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM alongside options for 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. Its dynamic RAM extension allows up to 8GB of total effective RAM.

For photography, the rear camera setup relies on a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and an LED flash. In front is the 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

Powering the phone is the aforementioned 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging over USB-C. However, only a 15W power adapter is included.

Out of the box, it is running on HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, AI Face Unlock, Dual SIM 5G, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB-C.
