Recently, CloudFone changed their company direction for the better. One of the fruition of that initiative is to provide the masses not only with phones with good specs on a super tight budget, but also with something durable and inspirational as well. The Thrill Lite and Thrill HD are those phones, devices with extra durable metal clad bodies and the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system that's also stylish at the same time.

Build Quality / Design

The metal back cover of the Thrill HD

CloudFone managed to incorporate something uncommon for the low asking price, this phone is made out of durable metal metal materials. Assuring that its really made out of metal is its added weight, as this one feels heavier than most devices with the same size of different materials.
Micro USB and 3.5 mm port
On top there's the part where you can open the phone, the 3.5 mm jack, micro USB port

Aside from that the texture feels really hard enough that can even survive several hard drop test. Even the buttons is made out of the same material of the back cover. The 5 inch glass screen on the other hand doesn't have protection so there might be a need with  but the good thing here is CloudFone added a good quality case as well.

Going to the design, the Thrill HD looks better than most I was able to hold on a similar price bracket. It also comes with rounded corners that looks stylish and easy to hold as well. This phone also goes with gold, silver, grey and rose gold colors to choose from.

Update: This phone has LED notification

Display Quality

CloudFone Thrill HD screen
The pretty nice display of the phone

Thrill HD features a 5 inch HD screen with 1280 x 720 resolution which is sharp and good enough to view most the images and videos in a pleasing way specially at this screen size.

Then of course you should not expect CloudFone Prime level of screen as they viewing angles isn't that good as the gap between the panel and glass a bit too wide. Anyway it's still a good display specially for this price that has an adaptive tech and is also bright enough for the price.

Specs and features analysis

The rest of the specs is pretty normal from what we saw from the best of MyPhone and Cherry Mobile, but CloudFone has something here that most the other brands don't have. They're using the MediaTek Chip instead of the Spreadtrum that's more stable and mature as a processor based on our experience.

The other surprise here is the CloudFone Thrill HD is one of the two first smartphones aside from the Thrill Lite to rock the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system that's more refined as a whole compared with Lollipop.

Overall, while I'm just assuming for now due to the limited time I had with the unit. The overall internals that they placed inside the device makes it a decent everyday entry level device that won't disappoint non-heavy users.

As of the moment

The CloudFone Thrill HD is something that you'll want to have on a sub 3K phone. The camera is truly surprising, the build quality is never before seen for a cheap phone like this and the overall and user experience is actually quite okay. Not to mention that this runs on the newer Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Another winner!

We'll complete the rest of the details as soon as we get our actual review unit.
