MWC 2018: Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 700 series chip with A.I.

Apart from MediaTek, Qualcomm also announced their own mid-range chip with A.I. capabilities, the Snapdragon 700.

But unlike the Helio P60 chip, the Snapdragon is positioned in between the high-end 800 series and the mid-range 600 series. So, we could expect to see the new Snapdragon 700 in the upper mid-range to entry-flagship models.

Anyway, Qualcomm boasts that the Snapdragon 700 has a feature set found on the high-end Snapdragon 845 chipset. It has the Kyro CPU cores, Adreno GPU, A.I. supported by Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence Engine, Hexagon DSP, 

According to Qualcomm the Snapdragon 700 series can learn voice and speech, enhance battery life without changing applications or settings, professional grade camera features, ultra fast LTE, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Qualcom also claimed that it'll have a 30 percent improvement in power efficiency for better poerformance and battery live versus the Snapdragon 660 SoC.

I'll also have Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ with up to 50 percent charge in 15 minutes.

The Snapdragon 700 Mobile Platform Series will bring premium tier technologies and features into more affordable devices, something our global OEM customers and consumers are demanding, Alex Katouzian (Senior Vice President and general manager, mobile, Qualcomm Technologies) said. “From our cutting-edge Qualcomm AI Engine, to superior camera, device performance and power, the Snapdragon 700 Series is optimized to support the experiences consumers have come to expect from the most advanced mobile devices at a lower price point.

However, this is everything we know for now. Qualcomm hasn't revealed the exact specs of the Snapdragon 700 series yet.
