Redmi, Xiaomi's newly formed independent brand, just sold all Note 7 smartphones in its first sale in China in just 8 minutes and 36 seconds!

Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi said that the Redmi Note 7 exceeded the company's expectations. Redmi even stopped taking pre-orders just after two days of going live.

The reason behind Redmi's success is possibly due to the unprecedented value for money offered by the Redmi Note 7.

To those who missed our previous report, Redmi Note 7 is the most affordable smartphone in the world with a 48MP camera. It also have a 6.3-inch IPS waterdrop notch screen with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset, up to 6GB RAM, up to 64GB expandable storage, 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+ support, and a 13MP selfie camera.

The Redmi Note 7 has a crazy low starting price of CNY 999 or around PHP 7,600 out of straight conversion.

The next Redmi Note 7 is on January 18.
