Smart goes with the "Best User Download Speeds" in PH according to P3

P3 recently released a study citing Smart as the network with the "Best User Download Speeds" in the Philippines.

P3 is a mobile network benchmark group based in Germany. Their study included 121 million samples from 104,000 users from October to December 2018. Smart achieved a download speed score of 98 points versus the 68 points of its nearest competitor.

Smart said that their latest award is a proof that their continuous network upgrades across the country are paying off and their customers are already feeling the benefits.

In particular, PLDT's expansive fiber network now cover 244,000 kilometers which supports Smart's mobile network by providing high-capacity links to cellular base stations.

Smart recently increased their 4G LTE base stations by over 86 percent year-on-year. Smart claimed that this massive deployment enabled Smart to provide mobile broadband in at least 90 percent of the country’s cities and municipalities.

Smart also added that they will further invest in their networks to maintain the company's competitive edge over other telco providers in the country.

P3's data supports the earlier reports by OpenSignal, Ookla, and Tutela which show Smart's massive improvements lately.

Ookla reported that Smart has an average download speed of 17.85 Mbps in PH.
