Just a day after the reveal of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus, MediaTek, its Taiwanese rival teased that it will launch its own gaming chip soon.

In a poster, MediaTek revealed that it is currently developing a chip dubbed as "Helio G90" for gaming.

MediaTek = Mobile gaming!

MediaTek hasn't revealed many details yet, but we can expect it to be more powerful and gaming-focused than the AI-centric Helio P90.

Some speculate that the chip will be based on the Helio P90 with 2x Cortex-A75 cores at 2.2GHz, 6x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and 970MHz PowerVR GM9446.

But we won't be surprised if it will carry the same cores and GPU found on the MediaTek 5G chip, the Cortex-A77 CPU and the Mali-G77 GPU since it needs to be significantly better in gaming than the Helio P90.

We can also expect it to pack added features like improved cooling and gaming mode like Kirin chips.

We do not know its release date yet, but this is quite interesting. Why? MediaTek is trying to be more and more competitive in the gaming space.
