Xiaomi could be working with Nikon, Canon or Hasselblad in the future
On Xiaomi's official Weibo account, the company posted a survey that asked fans who they want the company to collaborate with.

Who do you want Xiaomi to work with?
Xiaomi posted a survey on its Weibo account asking fans which camera company should Xiaomi collaborate with. The options listed are Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad, and not needed. All three camera brands have long legacies of being the best at camera manufacturing. Canon and Nikon are two of the major camera manufacturers from Japan while Hasselblad originated from Sweden and is a leader in Medium Format cameras. In 2017, Drone manufacturer DJI has acquired a majority interest in Hasselblad. This resulted in Hasselblad's technologies and branding appearing in the DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

The results were in and the company fans have picked is Hasselblad with Canon in second place. However, this does not confirm that Xiaomi will work with any of the listed camera brands. It does give the public reassurance that the Chinese manufacturer is interested in further improving the imaging capabilities of its smartphone cameras.
This is in line with Huawei's partnership with Leica, Nokia's partnership with ZEISS, and Samsung's collaboration with Fujifilm.
