Smart Communications completes Sun rebrand

PLDT's wireless unit on Wednesday officially completed the rebranding of Sun Prepaid to Smart Prepaid.

Sun Prepaid subscribers are now Smart Prepaid users

Sun Prepaid users are now considered Smart Prepaid subscribers, Smart Communications said. 

Former Sun Prepaid subscribers are now allowed to avail GIGA Video, GIGA Stories, and GIGA Games, which the company said to have "generous data allocations". 

Through the years, our company’s thrust has always been about enabling Filipinos to simplify their lives through mobile technology. And by simplifying, we mean making things easier and manageable so they can spend more time on the things that matter to them, said Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Wireless Business for Smart Jane J. Basas.

They can easily avail of the promos by dialing *123#, Smart noted. 

As the government implemented distance learning, Smart is supporting this through introducing GIGA Study, a data pack that also enables students to access Google Suite, YouTube, YouTube Kids, Microsoft 365 with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, and OneDrive, among others.

Since remote working has also been embraced due to the pandemic, the telco launched GIGA Work, offering access to Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco WebEx.
