Creaseless design?

The rollable smartphone contains OPPO's three proprietary technologies including the Roll Motor powertrain, 2-in-1 Plate, and a self-developed Warp Track high-strength screen laminate.

Back and front design of the rollable device |
The Roll Motor powertrain uses two drive motors built into the handset used to retract or extend a screen. OPPO said that as the display moves, stress is equally distributed and even a sudden pull or push won't damage the screen.
It also has a whole bearing with a slider on the side of the phone which allows the slider to follow a smooth arc and make. At 6.8 mm diameter from the central axis, the display bends almost without a trace.
The 2-in-1 Plate supports the screen with no segment gaps. OPPO also boasts that it has a "creaseless design" unlike most foldable smartphones today.
For better protection, it has a new dynamic frame that consists of a fixed frame and a sliding frame.
OPPO also uses a self-developed Warp Track high-strength screen laminate to make the rollable display resilient when it bends. This laminate is just 0.1mm thick.
The device has a continuously variable OLED display that measures as small as 6.7-inch on which can expand to as large as 7.4-inches.
At 6.7-inch, it reminds us of a normal smartphone screen. But, thanks to OPPO's rollable solution, it can expand to 7.4-inch big. That's the size of several tablets.
OPPO hasn't shared much about the phone. But its back designed showed that it has a triple camera setup similar to the OPPO Find X2 Pro.
OPPO noted that the rollable displays could provide a more plesant viewing experience and make its users be more productive.
Let's wait and see when will OPPO make a handset with this technology available to the masses.
