More cell sites for better connectivity in Pasig
With the support of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu shared the local telco giant will build 160 cell sites in Pasig soon. Aside from the cell sites, Globe will also build additional fiber lines to support the new cell sites.
Mayor Vico also acknowledged that it isn't that easy to build infrastructures that needed plenty of permits, a reason why the City of Pasig is supporting telcos like Globe to hasten the upgrades.
This move is to heed Pasigueño's call for more reliable and speedier connectivity across the city.
To recap, Globe is ramping up its nationwide network upgrade to improve its internet services. This is the company's answer to the Duterte administration's call for better internet for Filipinos.
In 2020 alone, Globe allocated USD 1.2 billion (around PHP 63 billion) capex to improve its network.
