Xiaomi 12S Ultra will use the new 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor!
Following yesterday's report that Xiaomi will introduce the 12S flagship series with Leica branding on July 4, new details about one of those phones emerged earlier.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra will feature the new Sony IMX989 sensor with a massive 1-inch size.

Sony sensors with a 1-inch size on phones are not new as the Sony Xperia PRO-I and the Aquos R6/R7 also have the same sensor size. But, this is a new sensor specifically designed for mobile phones. The previous 1-inch sensors on phones are for digital cameras.
Xiaomi also said that the 12S Ultra will have a faster focusing speed and better dynamic range performance.
To those who do not know, the bigger the sensor size is, the better expected overall camera performance especially in low light.v
Other than that there are no other details about the phone yet.
Previous rumors point out that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra might come with a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera with OIS and a 48MP telephoto camera to support up to 120x zoom. It might also feature a 32MP selfie camera, 4,900mAh battery, 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and IP68 water and dust resistance.
