IFA 2022: Sony Xperia 5 IV with 120Hz HDR OLED, SD8 Gen 1 and IP68 launched!

Sony expands the Xperia line of smartphones with a new smartphone equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 120Hz HDR OLED.

Sony revealed the Xperia 1 IV and the Xperia 10 IV back in May 2022. Now, Sony unveils the latest member of the IV series with the Xperia 5 IV.

The new smartphone features a unique 6.1-inch 21:9 CinemaWide FHD+ HDR display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch scanning rate. It is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protected.

Inside is the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor, Adreno next-gen GPU, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1, microSD card expansion slot, and 5,000mAh battery with 30W Xperia Adaptive Charging, Qi wireless charging and with Battery Share function.

At the back is the 12MP f/1.7 primary camera with a 1/1.7-inch Exmor RS sensor with Hybrid OIS/EIS, the 12MP f/2.2 124-degree 16mm ultra-wide angle camera with an Exmor RS sensor, and the 12MP f/2.4 2.5X optical zoom telephoto camera with OIS and LED flash.

Other features include a 3.5mm audio jack, 360 Reality Audio, 360 Spatial Audio, Full-stage Stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, a Side-mounted Fingerprint sensor, IP68 Water and dust resistance rating, 5G, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC.

The phone measures 156 x 67 x 8.2mm and weighs 172 grams. It runs on Android 12 and it comes in either Green, Ecru White, and Black colorways.
