vivo Philippines today announced that the newest member of its Y series is coming to the country soon, the Y22s.
A quick search in our archives showed that the device was first announced in Vietnam.
In that part of the world, the handset features a boxy design in Starlit Blue and Summer Cyan colors, a 6.55-inch LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ 1612 x 720 resolution, 530 nits peak brightness, and a notch housing its 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
Inside, the device is powered by the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core processor, Adreno 610 GPU, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging.
Note that this has up to 8GB of extra virtual RAM for a total of 16GB of Dynamic RAM as well.
For the cameras, the device has a 50MP f/1.8 main camera paired with a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera (ignore this) and an LED flash at the back. The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, WiFi 6, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and dual SIM slots.
In Vietnam, the device retails for VND 59,900,000 or around PHP 14.4K out of straight conversion. Let's hope that vivo Philippines will price it lower here to make it more attractive.
