Another year of firsts for ASUS?

At CES 2023, ASUS and ROG stole the show with a long list of innovative features and products and a handful of the best have arrived in the Philippines for a short time. We were invited to try these new products and here are our quick impressions. In this article, we take a look at the one laptop that stole the show, the ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED.

But before that, the Taiwanese company wants to make it clear that the key new features included in its 2023 line of laptops

include the latest powerful components and noteworthy technologies, the strictest MIL-STD 810H testing, OLED expansion and development, and breakthrough hygiene tech/Antimicrobial Guard Plus.

ASUS says that the laptops showcased will all have the 13th Generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA's RTX 4000 series.

Each model will also go through the rigorous US MIL-STD-810H which encompasses 12 testing methods and 26 testing procedures.

ASUS boasted that most of the OLED screen-equipped laptops will get 120Hz or more refresh rates.

Lastly, ASUS has implemented its AntimicrobialGuard Plus to select devices. It uses a high concentration coating of positively charged silver ions which attract the negatively charged virus walls which results in the Silver ions piercing thru the virus walls (envelopes) which leads to damaging their structure and inhibiting viral reproduction. ASUS says that the Antimicrobial Guard Plus has a 99 percent virus and bacterial inhibiting effect and will last 3 years.

One laptop stole the show with its game-changing feature. That laptop is the ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED with ASUS Spatial Vision. It features a 16-inch 3.2K 120Hz 3D OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 3200 x 2000 resolution and 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It is the world's first Glasses-Free 3D OLED technology.

It uses a 3D Lenticular lens where the screen is interlaced into alternate lines meant for left and right eyes only. The Lenticular lens layer serves the correct lines to each eye. Then the two cameras track the user's eyes and adjust the image to optimize the delivery of the image to each eye. This means that to get the most 3D effect is ideally up to 30 degrees beyond the left or right edge of the laptop.

ASUS says that the used cases for this product include E-Shop showcases, 3D movies, 3D Product Design/3D Print previews, 3D Games, VR Games and Virtual Meeting Avatars.

Inside is the ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED are the next generation Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 with NVIDIA Studio Drivers that get 150W of power. To cool the next-generation components, the laptop uses 102-bladed fans, Liquid Metal heat dissipation, Per-Key designed air-intake vents and the ASUS IceCool Pro. The ASUS IceCool Pro uses several heat pipes that transfer heat to two fans that eject the hot air into four exhaust vents.
