Reportedly, discussions start to merge iQOO

Citing its sources, 36 Krypton reported that vivo is indeed looking into merging iQOO into the main brand.

This is vivo's way to reduce costs and increase its efficiency in the future, the Chinese publication added.

36 Krypton noted its source from vivo said high-level executives have discussed merging several teams like brands and media strategies. This may lead to iQOO no longer having independent stores and counters.

However, it is not yet clear if iQOO will remain a separate business unit.

The internal bosses are still struggling. What the positioning of iQOO in the future and how to integrate the team are still uncertain, 36 Krypton quotes its source.

The publication has asked vivo for comment, but it has yet to receive a response.

iQOO was officially introduced in 2019.

vivo and iQOO shared only in terms of R&D, supply chain, channel system, media source procurement, and others that require scale, 36 Krypton noted.

According to former iQOO employees, vivo and the sub-brand are “completely two teams working on two different waves of users."

While it is a sub-brand of vivo, iQOO has independent offline stores and separate sales counters, 36 Krypton added.

What do you think about this?
