MediaTek continues growth

The company boasts that it had a very strong revenue growth rate. In particular, it increased its USD 8 billion in 2019 to more than double at 18.5 billion in 2022.

54 percent of its revenue is from the mobile segment. According to data from analytics firm IDC, MediaTek holds the top 1 mobile chipset supplier in 2021 and 2023.

The company maintained this lead despite the "worst semiconductor shortage period" in 2021 with 41-42 percent of the market share. In 2022, it is lower but still greater than 35 percent.

Its 4G market share also went down, but the company said that they are "working hard" to regain it.

The company noted that they will continue to make better efforts to maintain the position going forward.

MediaTek is also trying to get a slice of the premium market. From 0 percent in 2021, the company now has more than 20 percent of the flagship market in China last year (2022). The reason behind this is its 4nm Dimensity 9200 that was used on several high-end mobile devices like vivo X90, vivo X90 Pro, and OPPO Find X6.

Meanwhile, OPPO Find N2 Flip and TECNO Phantom V Fold as well as the OnePlus Pad are using the Dimensity 9000+.

The company is also improving its premium-tier like by introducing the TSMC ARM v9 Dimensity 7200. Its latest release in the premium tier is the Dimensity 8200 and they said that it is achieving "certain" successes.

MediaTek also recently launched the upgrade of the Dimensity 9200 called Dimensity 9200+ with about a 10 to 11 percent increase in CPU performance and 17 percent better graphics.

Apart from the mobile market, MediaTek has other products for TV connectivity, smart speakers, smart displays, smart homes, tablets, Chromebooks, etc accounting for about 39 percent of its business.

MediaTek's Power IC, accounts for about 7 percent.

The company also told members of the Philippine tech media that it has noticed a number of key trends in the industry that it can leverage like smart cities, smart homes, and smart factories.

MediaTek Genio is the current IoT platform that MediaTek currently has. MTK said that it has all kinds of products, from low-end to high-end.

Aside from that, the company also has Dimensity Auto with Auto Cockpit, Auto Connect, Auto Drive, and Auto Component in partnership with NVIDIA.
