The latest Samsung foldable has the same DxOMark rating as the number 43rd camera phone in the world.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 is one of the premium offerings of the brand. It comes with an improved hinge for the screen, a slimmer design, is lighter, and is upgraded with a faster processor SD8G2.
In terms of camera, the phone boasts a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor with Dual AF and OIS + 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooting + 10MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter with up to telephoto 3x zoom.
According to DxOMark, it scored 128 points overall in the camera department. That rating comprises 129 in photo score, with Bokeh at 70 points, 76 points on Preview, 128 points at Zoom, and 123 points in the video.
When it comes to portrait and group photos, it has a rating of 122 points, while for low-light conditions it has 96 points.
The overall 128 points are also the same score as the 2-year-old phone OPPO Find X3 Pro announced last March 2021.
Anyways DxOMark summarizes its camera performance as "fairly good" in video and photo for a foldable device. They also noted that it has good exposure, a wide dynamic range, a high level of captured detail in the video, and a smooth exposure transition in the video.
As for cons, DxOMark says, it produced "quite an intrusive image noise in photo and video", slight white balance casts in daylight conditions, occasional autofocus errors in very low light, and fusion artifacts in challenging low light conditions.
Scrolling through the overall performance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is next to the Google Pixel Fold which holds the number 28th overall spot in the world. But in other words, Google gets 1st place while Samsung takes 2nd place if we talk about folds only.
However, in all of the smartphones, the HUAWEI P60 Pro remains unchallenged at the top spot, followed by the OPPO Find X6 Pro for 2nd and the HONOR Magic5 Pro at 3rd spot overall.
What do you guys think?
