TECNO GGWP Season 1 ends with success!

The GGWP is an amateur Mobile Legends competition hosted by TECNO Philippines with the aim of fostering players and providing a platform for them to perfect their skills and talents, this also provides unequaled gaming and enjoyable experience for every Filipino, similar to the POVA 5 Series.

Only 16 of the 400 aspiring teams registered made it to the qualifying rounds and battled it out in the land of dawn throughout the weekly elimination series all the way to the grand finals.

During the Grand Finals day, it was attended by the biggest personalities in the ML industry such as AkosiDogie (TECNO's Chief Gaming Officer), Ghost Wrecker, Thirdy, Sainty, AJ, and Shin Gonzaga.

Adding more fun to the event, TECNO also invited the team Minana Esport and the 2023 IESF Champions to perform a showdown fight with Minana Esports claiming 2-0 in a best-of-3 show match. Meanwhile, the brand also hosted the DAYO Series Semi-Finals on the same day.

During the live matches, popular professional shoutcasters Hans Galeria, Chantelle, Manjean, Shin Boo, and Athena Rika also provided commentary. Fans were also overjoyed since they were able to meet and greet their gaming idols.

Going back to the main event, it was Z4 Esports that won the first-ever TECNO GGWP Tournament where they defeated Digital Devils Pro Gaming with a 2-0 standing.

The winner bagged a PHP 150,000 prize pool together with 6 TECNO POVA 5 Pro 5G smartphones.

As for the 1st runner-ups, they got PHP 75,000 prize money. The 2nd runner-up received PHP 25K which is the team Rough World Gaming. 

Moving forward, TECNO is proud to announce that its amateur tournament garnered 1.4 million viewers during its live stream on the official TECNO Facebook page.

The brand also announces its POVA 5 Series Road Show where aspiring gamers/buyers can try the POVA 5 Pro 5G smartphone itself. TECNO says they will have a booth at select malls throughout September to October where guests can try the phone themselves. Moreover, fans will have the opportunity to win prizes and meet their gaming idols.

September 16 SM MOA  - Meet Shin Gonzaga, Thirdy Gaming, Sainty
September 23 SM North Edhsa - Meet Mark Adrian Jison, Shin Boo Ponferrada, Shin Gonzaga
October 14 SM MegaMall - Meet AkoSiDogie and April Joy Baruesso

Finally, TECNO announced they were able to obtain 1st rank position during the 9.9 Sale on TikTok Shop with a 300 percent GMV increase versus the previous month. Anyways, the brand says the TECNO POVA Series is still available on the official TikTok Shop, Lazada, and Shopee. Meanwhile, the Pro variant can now be bought in offline stores too.
