Infinix ZERO 30 5G food shots: Impressive 108MP quality under PHP 15K!

At just PHP 14,999, the new Infinix ZERO 30 5G is one of the best value-for-money phones for the price. As expected, it is equipped with powerful cameras.
Can it take yummy-looking snaps?

Behind, the device is sporting a large 108MP f/1.75 HM6 sensor with PDAF and OIS for the main camera. Then, it is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth shooter.

Not to be left behind, the selfie camera is also huge, especially at this price point. In particular, it uses a high-quality selfie and vlogging-ready 50MP shooter with PDAF and Dual Micro-slit Flash.

We've been using its cameras for a month now and we are impressed with the price.

To put it further to the test, we tried it for taking food shots in different lighting conditions to see if it could also be used for taking social media-ready and yummy-looking snaps.

Let's have a look.

Infinix ZERO 30 5G food shots and more

Premium Luncheon Meat Sandwich 1x and 3x
Premium Luncheon Meat Sandwich 1x and 3x

For breakfast, I got the Premium Luncheon Meat Sandwich (PHP 210) from Merienda by Pan de Manila, my personal favorite sandwich in that resto.

Since it is under a well-lit lighting situation, the shot I took at 1x is incredibly crisp with accurate colors. If you will notice, it has some sort of a background blur effect (bokeh) even if I didn't use its Portrait mode thanks to its use of a 108MP cam with 1/1.67-inch large pixel size and bright f/1.75 aperture.

At 3x mode, I was able to further eliminate the shadows and do a more artistic "the more putol, the more sosyal" shot. The 3x lossless mode of the device (crop from its 108MP cam) really impressed me as the shot remained detailed and the exposure, as well as the colors, didn't change. It was even able to further highlight the grill marks and the Pandesal-like texture of the bread in the shot.

I was able to get the snaps in just one shot as its focus system is fast enough and its OIS tech helps with the stabilization.

For lunch, I had the best Pad Thai in the metro for me. It is the Pad Thai (PHP 800) I ordered from the Pool House restaurant at Grand Hyatt Manila.

I used the 3x lossless zoom mode again and it proved that the first shots I took were no fluke. It is impressive and was even able to create a DSLR-like bokeh effect.

Next, I took an indoor photo of Elephant Ground's French Vanilla Latte (PHP 205). Again, it is accurate looking in colors and the subject is well emphasized.

In dimmer situations, I expected its primary camera to struggle. But, it didn't. Ippudo's Yokohama Shoyu Torched (PHP 595) I had for dinner looked absolutely delicious here and the grain is hardly noticeable unless you pixel peep. Even at 3x, the shot remained crisp with hardly noticeable degradation in image quality.
Ice cream 1x night shot

For dessert, I decided to grab Hokkaido Soft Serve in Lengua de Gato Cone (PHP 135). Take note that I took this shot outside of the restaurant in low light.

Even if I didn't use its night mode, the capable 108MP camera of the device allowed me to take a social media-ready photograph that is highly impressive for a phone at this price point. It retained the details on my hand and the ice cream with a nice background blur and minimal grain.

Oh, I also took a selfie with the meat skewer I had at Grand Hyatt. Since it is a 50MP snapper, I was able to get a high-quality-looking front snap of both the food and myself. I noticed that there is no over-beautification under its default mode here as well.

Quick thoughts

The Infinix ZERO 30 5G is rightfully labeled as a vlogging phone. But, it is more than just that.

For me, the handset is also a pretty capable camera phone. As you guys saw, it can take high-quality food snaps and more even if you don't edit colors, exposure, and more, especially at its price point. While it isn't perfect, it can take social media-ready photographs without much effort most of the time.

Apart from its cameras, this device is also considered a powerhouse in terms of design, specs, charging capability, and more under PHP 15K.

To those who missed it, the device is available at Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop as well.
