End of an era: All Nokia smartphones are discontinued on HMD website

Following the HMD rebranding, the Finnish firm discontinued all smartphones under the Nokia brand.

No more Nokia smartphones in the future

Nokia will still be present but will solely focus on feature-bar phones. All smartphone lineups will be under HMD. This was already hinted at back in February during the rebranding phase. Moreover, several smartphones were released with the HMD logo, so it's not surprising to see this.

The legendary phone maker, well known for the jokes about its unbreakable phones, has experienced difficulty staying competitive in the smartphone space.

HMD revived the once-mighty cellphone brand in 2017 and started its first Android smartphone line with the Nokia 6, which features a near-stock Android experience.

Meanwhile, it ended with the Nokia XR21 regarded as a tough phone with an IP69K rating and Military rating durability.

Now, all the Nokia smartphones have been transferred to a separate category on HMD's website, indicating their departure from the company's active line of products.

The page has links and images to several different Nokia smartphones and tablets, but clicking on any of them gives a barebones overview with the notice "This phone is no longer available." HMD has reorganized the site to focus more on its own products.

There has been no official statement about the move, and HMD has stopped trying to keep the brand alive.

While Nokia-branded smartphones are no longer available, the Nokia name will live on through its feature phone category. HMD continues to sell Nokia-branded dumbphones, which remain popular in some areas and for old people.

Furthermore, Nokia as a firm has successfully entered the network infrastructure and telecommunications markets. Today, it leads in 5G technology, cloud computing, cameras, and IoT devices, demonstrating its endurance and adaptability.
