More great cameras in the future

3 years ago, OPPO formed a strategic partnership with Hasselblad, a renowned imaging brand. Since then, the two companies have collaborated on several flagship smartphones.

Now, they have announced an extension of their partnership, revealing plans to develop a next-generation imaging system for the brand's upcoming flagship devices.

While OPPO has not disclosed specific details about the new system, the company stated that it aims to "set a new benchmark for mobile imaging quality."

The collaboration between OPPO and Hasselblad began with the Find X5 series. Since then, the company's flagship phones have incorporated several camera enhancements, including Hasselblad’s color science and Portrait Mode, which emulates classic Hasselblad lenses.

Additionally, OPPO introduced a professional Hasselblad Master Mode, inspired by Hasselblad's X2D mirrorless medium-format camera. The partnership has also brought the Hasselblad XPan mode to many devices, recreating the distinctive 65:24 wide aspect ratio for photos.
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra

This partnership also solidified OPPO as one of the top brands to produce great cameras. In fact, the current flagship Find X8 Ultra holds the no. 1 position of DxOMark ranking, besting the likes of HUAWEI and Apple at least for this quarter.

In case you don't know yet, the Find X8 Ultra boasts a Hasselblad branded 50MP f/1.8 main camera with 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor and OIS, a 50MP f/2.0 120-degree ultra-wide angle camera with a Samsung JN5 sensor, a 50MP f/2.1 3x telephoto Periscope camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYT700 sensor and OIS, and a 50MP f/3.1 6x telephoto Periscope camera with a Sony LYT600 sensor and OIS, and an LED flash.

For selfies, it is packed with a 32MP f/2.4 selfie camera with a Sony IMX809 sensor. It uses the new LUMO imaging system.
