Smart's GigaLife app hits 10 million users

PLDT's wireless unit Smart Communications said its GigaLife app now has 10 million users, over a year after it was introduced to the subscribers.

In a statement, Smart said its one-stop app already reached the 10 million mark, helping the group boost the data usage on Smart's network through the app's exclusive product offers.

For instance, data usage driven by the All-Data pack, which offers shareable data for all sites, has grown by nearly six times. Meanwhile, daily usage from the Unli 5G data pack has also tripled between March and September.

These supercharged data offers, powered by the GigaLife App, await our new subscribers when they switch their old numbers to Smart, said Jane J. Basas, senior vice president and head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart.

Basas also said that mobile users should take advantage of the mobile number portability services to "make the Smart move and experience the country’s fastest mobile data network" while keeping their number.

She noted that MNP services are also available via the GigaLife App.

An Ookla's report recently showed that Smart has been named as a global leader in 5G video experience and for the global impact of 5G across all four metrics, including user experience.

The Pangilinan-led telco boasts its more than 4,000 5G sites deployed to over 3,000 areas nationwide.
